I think people should where green because it represents St. Patrick's day. Its like Christmas you can were Christmas shirts and most people do were Christmas shirts. Why don't people where green???
It is a holiday so why don't you where green. If you tell people not to pinch you  they won't but if they do and you told them not to  tell a teacher. These are the reasons that i think that you SHOULD where green on St. Patrick's day.
